This policy explains how Scott Hatcher, operating the Money Guardian product through the BytePlum digital-products brand (“Money Guardian,” “we,” or “us”), handles information in the Money Guardian iPhone app and related support services.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, first name, role, account identifier, and password hash.
- Content you choose to check: pasted text, locally extracted screenshot text, or a call summary; warning-sign results; pairing and trusted-review records.
- Subscription information: Apple product, transaction identifiers, entitlement status, and expiration. We do not receive payment-card details.
- Notification information: an Apple Push Notification service device token if you enable alerts.
- Security records: limited account, pairing, check, review, deletion, and subscription events used to prevent abuse and operate the service.
Screenshot privacy
When you choose a screenshot, text recognition occurs on your iPhone using Apple Vision. The image itself is not uploaded. The extracted text is shown to you before it is submitted. Do not submit passwords, full card numbers, Social Security numbers, or one-time security codes.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, analyze text for predetermined warning patterns, connect users they choose to pair, deliver review requests, verify Apple subscriptions, provide support, maintain security, and comply with law. The included version does not use third-party artificial intelligence.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers needed to operate Money Guardian, such as our hosting/database provider, Apple for subscriptions and push notifications, and authorities when legally required. A paired trusted person can see the submitted summary and warning-sign result after you choose to send it. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-company advertising tracking.
Retention and deletion
Account content is retained while the account is active. In-app deletion removes the profile, pairings, checks, reviews, and stored evidence from the active database. Encrypted disaster-recovery backups may retain deleted data for up to 30 days before automatic expiration. Limited de-identified or pseudonymous security records may be retained for up to 90 days when reasonably necessary to detect abuse or meet legal obligations.
Security
We use transport encryption, one-way password hashing, application-layer encryption for submitted text, access controls, and limited audit records. No service can promise absolute security.
Your choices
You can decline notifications, choose what content to submit, unpair from another user through support, or delete the entire account in Settings. You may request access, correction, or deletion at support@byteplum.net.
Children
Money Guardian is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
